A Columbia county Anthology
Columbia County, Oregon – we want to hear from you!
The Columbia County Authors Alliance is publishing a special community anthology to commemorate America 250 and serve as a record of this historic moment.
What is an anthology, you ask? It’s a collection of stories or essays on a specific theme. In this case, the stories of Columbia County’s residents to mark this historic anniversary.
The anthology will be published in late June 2026 as a FREE ebook, available for everyone to download and enjoy.
Participation is open to all county residents, from our youngest writers to our valued elders.
No previous writing or publishing experience is required. Whether this is the first time you’re putting words on the page, or you’ve been writing for years, we want to hear what America 250 means to you.
Your submission can take any form – personal essays, short stories, poetry, and more – and may range in length from a couple of sentences up to ten double-spaced pages.
Everyone who submits a piece for the collection will be entered into a prize drawing. Winners will be selected by random and announced on July 4, 2026.
Submissions will open on Presidents Day (February 16, 2026) and close on Memorial Day (May 25, 2026).
